No prior design or drawing experience is required — Module 1 starts from computer basics. You'll need a Windows computer capable of running Matrix (any machine from the last 5 years typically works fine) for offline batches, or any device with a browser for online video modules.
Matrix is used for designing jewelry in 3D — rings, bands, bridal sets, and stone settings — with files that export directly to wax-printing and casting specifications for manufacturing.
Matrix is commercial software with a license cost; it is not free. Crystal Jewelry Institute's courses focus on teaching you the skills — software licensing is separate and something we can guide you on during enrollment.
Our structured path takes roughly 6–7 months offline (flexible) covering all 12 modules, or self-paced online — some modules can be completed in as little as a week of focused practice.
No high-end hardware is required — most computers from the last 5 years handle Matrix comfortably. Offline students use provided workstations either way.
